Audit Shopify apps for performance

An app audit connects each installed tool to a business purpose, an owner and a measurable cost. It is both a performance review and an operating review.

Create the inventory

List the app, fee, owner, data access and visible storefront features. Record which workflows depend on it. Include scripts or snippets left by earlier tools where they can be identified.

Put it in context

Review storefront sections and the settings merchants can manage themselves.

Evaluate value and overlap

Check whether several tools solve the same problem and whether the feature is still used. Compare loading impact and operational benefit using evidence. Do not remove an app just because its purpose is unclear to the reviewer.

Remove dependencies safely

Get the responsible owner’s decision and follow current removal guidance. Check connected workflows and remaining storefront code. Keep a rollback record and retest the affected buying journey after the change.

Put the guidance to work

Capture your starting point, assign an owner to the next action, and decide what evidence will confirm that it worked.
